Ålesund - Sjøholt - Geiranger - Hellesylt - Øye - Ålesund
This trip starts in Ålesund and goes to Geiranger via Sjøholt and Eidsdal. Between Eidsdal and Geiranger you drive along the spectacular Eagle Road, a hairpin road up the steep valley sides of the Geirangerfjord with a breathtaking view of Geiranger.
In Geiranger you have some time on your own before the journey continues with a wonderful fjord cruise on the Geirangerfjord. Steep mountains, charming mountain farms and gorgeous waterfalls are among the sights you can enjoy on this voyage.
You continue by bus from Hellesylt through the fascinating Norangsdalen, where there is a short photo stop by the Lyngstøylvatnet lake. The lake was formed by a rock fall from Keipen in 1908. Beneath the waters of the lake, you can still see remains of the old road, the foundations of the farmhouses and the gateway.
From Øye you take the boat back to Ålesund cruising on the fantastic Hjørundfjord.
Departure from: Ålesund bus terminal, track 4
About our trips
This trip is a “Travel like the locals” tour by FRAM - the brand for public transport in Møre and Romsdal county. Our “Travel like the locals” tours use the regular FRAM buses, ferries and boats, but we have done the planning for you so that you can concentrate on enjoying your trip. You travel on your own - there is no guide or tour leader. On most of our tours you must change several times between different buses/ferries/boats, and it is up to you to make sure you catch your connections – truly travelling like a local! (The tours are set up so that the buses, ferries and boats connect.)
Trips are not available for booking on public holidays and during holiday periods such as Easter and Christmas due to deviations in the timetables. The timetable shown is valid for the periods when the trip is bookable.
